Everyone is a Friend
The fee to become a member of The Friends of Brooklin’s library has been waived for all patrons of The Friend Memorial Library. To participate in The Friends, we ask that you sign up for this no-fee membership at the library or fill out and mail in this form (PDF). This will put you on our mailing list for newsletters and announcements.
In 1993, Gretchen Volenik, with the help of Pat Fowler and many other community volunteers, organized a Friends of the Library group for our Brooklin Library. The goal of our Friends group is to encourage and stimulate community use of our library and support complementary library projects. One of the major on-going projects of Brooklin’s Friends is the Katharine and E.B. White Memorial Garden with full financial responsibility for its continuing care. Watch for our many other projects as they are announced in our newsletters.
How To be a Friend?
Here are only a few of the ways we need you:
- be a Friend of the Library Board member
- donate books and videos for our sales
- help with our 4th of July Book Sale
- help sort donated books any Tuesday at noon
- help with garden clean-up
- encourage your family and visitors to enjoy the library
- take time to enjoy and read in the garden--weather permitting
- share your ideas with us
- remember us when you win the lottery
